How to Place a Live Bet
Live betting uses the same main Betslip as SportyBet’s regular sports betting. The difference is that in-play prices can change while the event continues, and markets can be suspended during significant incidents.
Selecting a Market and Adding Odds to the Betslip
- Open Live Betting and select an ongoing event.
- Review the available markets. For football, the main markets include 3 Way, Next Goals, and goal totals.
- Click or tap the decimal odds for your preferred outcome.
- Check that the selection appears in the Betslip with the correct event, market, and price.
- If you selected the wrong outcome, remove it from the Betslip and choose the correct one.
Live odds can change after goals, penalties, red cards, and other match incidents. During these events, markets may be suspended while prices are recalculated. If the odds change before the wager is accepted, the bet may require confirmation at the updated price or be rejected. The price displayed when the selection was first clicked isn’t necessarily the price at which the bet will be accepted.
Choosing Between Single and Multiple Bets
SportyBet Ghana supports Single and Multiple bets for live sports.
- Single: Contains one selection from one event. The result of that selection determines whether the bet wins.
- Multiple: Combines two or more selections from different events into one wager. All selections must win for the Multiple to receive its full calculated payout.
For example, a live Multiple could combine a football Home Win at odds of 1.80 with a basketball Match Winner at 1.70. The combined decimal odds would be:
1.80 × 1.70 = 3.06
A GHS 10 stake at odds of 3.06 would produce a potential gross payout of GHS 30.60, including the original stake. If either selection loses, the Multiple loses. If a selection is voided, SportyBet recalculates the payout using odds of 1.00 for that outcome.

- Enter your stake in the Betslip. The minimum is GHS 0.10, and the maximum total stake per ticket is GHS 150,000.
- Review Total Stake and Potential Win, which is calculated using the selections and their current decimal odds.

- Click Place Bet, then Confirm to submit the wager.

Football live betting includes 3 Way and Next Goals markets directly in the event listings. 3 Way offers three selections:

- 2: Away team wins.
Standard full-time football result markets use 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalty shootouts unless the market specifies otherwise. Next Goals predicts which team will score the next goal. The selections can include:

If an event or market becomes unavailable before a wager is accepted, the bet can be rejected. The confirmation message and Sports Bet History determine whether the wager was successfully placed.
Live Scores and Match Trackers
SportyBet’s Livescore section lets users follow ongoing matches without opening individual betting markets. Match scores and tracker updates may be delayed or corrected, so the figures displayed during play aren’t used as the final basis for settlement. To use Cashout:
- Log in to your SportyBet Ghana account.
- Open Open Bets in the navigation.
- Find an unsettled wager displaying an active Cashout button.

The displayed Cashout amount is the total returned to the account, not additional profit on top of the original stake. Cashout values change with the probability of the bet winning. A reduced offer can appear when one or more selections are suspended. Auto Cashout can be removed before execution. If a bet is manually cashed out, its Auto Cashout rule ends.
Editing Eligible Live Bets
Edit Bet lets you add or remove selections and increase the stake on eligible unsettled Single and Multiple bets. Any changes are calculated using the current odds.
To edit a bet:
- Log in and open Open Bets.
- Select an unsettled Single or Multiple with an available Edit Bet control.
- Add or remove selections, or increase the stake.
- Review the modified wager and updated odds.
- Click Save Changes to confirm the edit.
Removing a selection displays an Undo control, allowing the removal to be reversed before the changes are saved. When Save Changes is selected, the original wager is cashed out and a new modified bet is placed. The replacement uses current odds rather than the prices accepted on the original ticket. Edit Bet requires Cashout to be available for all unsettled selections. It isn’t supported for:
- System bets.
- Flexi bets.
- One Cut bets.
- Bets placed using SportyCoins.
- Bets placed using Gifts.
A Multiple can remain eligible for Edit Bet even when some of its selections have already settled, provided the remaining unsettled selections meet the Cashout conditions.
Cashout and Edit Bet Eligibility Rules
Cashout requests aren’t guaranteed to succeed, even when an offer is displayed. The request may fail if the odds change or the market is suspended during processing. In that case, the original wager remains active.
Edit Bet is available only when Cashout remains active for every unsettled selection. If any of those markets becomes ineligible, you may temporarily lose the option to edit the bet.
Once a Cashout is confirmed, the agreed amount is credited to your account regardless of the eventual match result. SportyBet can still correct the settlement if an error is discovered.

Can I cancel a live bet after it has been placed?
Once SportyBet accepts a live bet, you can’t cancel it. However, you may be able to settle it early through Cashout or modify it using Edit Bet if these options are available for your wager.
Can I use SportyBet bonuses or Gifts for live betting?
SportyBet Ghana provides Free Bet Gifts and a Multibet Bonus, but they have different eligibility rules. Gifts can be reviewed under Me and Gifts. Each gift has an expiration date and restrictions on the products for which it can be used. If the gift is eligible for a live selection, it can be applied through the Gifts control in the Betslip. The Multibet Bonus applies to qualifying Multiples with at least two eligible selections. Qualifying odds generally start at 1.20 per selection, while the bonus percentage depends on the number of qualifying selections, leagues, and markets. Bets placed using Gifts or SportyCoins aren’t eligible for Edit Bet.
What happens if a live match is postponed or abandoned?
SportyBet Ghana can void bets when an event is postponed, abandoned, or its result can’t be verified. A voided selection is settled at decimal odds of 1.00. For a Single containing only a voided selection, this returns the original stake. In a standard Multiple, the voided selection is calculated at 1.00, while the remaining selections retain their settlement results. If a match is abandoned, markets whose outcomes haven’t been determined are voided. Bets on markets with an established result can still be settled under the applicable sport rules.
Are live match tracker scores used to settle bets?
